Delisting of Wolves makes Public more Accepting of Wolves?

Post by ChocolateRain » Thu Jan 03, 2008 2:56 pm

Was looking through the articles over in the Headline section of the International Wolf Center (www.wolf.org) site and one of the articles says that the delisting of wolves has made the public more accepting of them.

Heres the article: (it's a really short read)
http://www.wsaw.com/home/headlines/12880507.html

So I would like to know, do you guys agree with this article?

If the government gets to 'take care' of any problem wolves, I don't see why people wouldn't be more accepting of them. The wolves being off the Endangered list means they're much easier to get rid of, and that's what the victims of livestock predation want, right? So it sounds like their problem is closer to being solved, and I would think that that might give the victims better peace-of-mind.

Or something like that...
Rest in peace, sisters Lakota and Mackenzie

I think the only reason that the people are "more accepting" is because they get to kill them wjhenever they want. I dont think I'm going to a gun show ever agaun...

Gun shows aren't necessarily all about hunting although that is often the main attraction for most. I'm not trying to start anything but I do have an interest in guns; mostly military related though. I've been offered by my dad to go to gun shows but I refuse. : /

I wanna point out just cuz they're delisted doesn't mean they can be hunted as much as possible but I definitely see your point.

hunting isn't the main attraction for the one I go to. mostly its just about the guns and knives that are there. I don't have a problem with guns at all, I am better than most at using them. but I wouls never use my skills for hunting a wolf...

almost all the people around here use them for target practice. I have used a large range of different guns, including a British uzi and a modern sniper rifle.

we are getting really off-topic, maybe I should start one for discussing this.
