Re: Killing Bull elk (Your experiences0

As far as stats go, my wolves have had a lot of success hunting bulls in singleplayer with about 80-85 strength/55-60 speed/10 stamina. I'll try out some different stat combinations, but that one works well for me. I can inflict enough damage with each bite to make the kill less time-consuming. The...

Re: The Long and Winding Lamar

If they've been confirmed for WQ3, that would be great!

Re: The Long and Winding Lamar

That would be fun to see beavers in the game, if they get added. I like how Lost River shows some clear evidence of beavers even though they don't actually appear, and my wolf has walked across a beaver dam on that map.

Re: Common Themes for Wolf/Wild Animal Fiction?

Jack London's Whitefang was a seriously cool book to read, not so much because of the wolf/wolfdog's story but the way Jack London describes the world, people and nature especially... I read it in finnish but I'm pretty sure the experience wasn't too different. Maybe I liked it because it is so old...

Common Themes for Wolf/Wild Animal Fiction?

This thread is meant to start a discussion of modern fictional wolf characters in general. I've read several books that have wolf protagonists, including The Sight/Fell, Promise of the Wolves, Wolves of the Beyond, Firstborn and others. After reading them, I've noticed some common themes for the mai...

Re: Fight or Flight

Thanks for making the social arena more interesting in WQ 3. I'm looking forward to exploring this feature once the game is officially released.

Social Behavior of Cougars

I have always been fascinated by cougars, and wildlife biologists are continuing to learn more about them. While the solitary nature of cougars presents a challenge to study, research shows that there is more to the behavior of these animals than simply meeting to mate or fight. This National Geogra...

Re: Moose

I've seen moose in the wild in at least three locations; near the Tobacco Root mountains in southwest Montana, the Snowy Range mountains in Wyoming, and in the Star Valley in Wyoming. I once saw a moose crossing the road ahead of me and it helped me appreciate just how large these animals really are.

Cougars and bobcats are my favorite wildcats, and the mascot of the high school I attended is a cougar.

Re: Most irritating animal misconceptions

The idea that tigers and jaguars, who are excellent swimmers, dislike water simply because domestic cats do. The myth that Pitbulls can never be good pets; I have firsthand experience that this is not true. The idea that hyenas are cowardly scavengers. The myth that the wolves reintroduced to Yellow...

Re: Moose disappeared under the riverbed

I believe you two are correct in assuming this is a glitch and obviously not supposed to happen. If you encounter something like this again, your best bet is to send in a bug report . While this unfortunately won't directly fix anything or credit your wolf properly with the kill, it may at least en...

Re: Moose disappeared under the riverbed

I think it's some kind of glitch. I had killed 2 cow moose before with that particular wolf, but the game only credited her with the moose hunt and it didn't count the moose for the overall kill stats.

Re: Red Wolf pups born at NY Wolf Center [w/ live cam!]

It looks like the red wolf pups are doing well and are growing fast. This month, one male pup who was born at the center earlier, M2234, was named by an elementary student - Maple. The NY Wolf Center posted a picture of him at this link. https://nywolf.org/conservation-minded-child-names-critically-...
