Re: Why is this Wolf's tail curly?

Hard to say, although the other wolves in the pack are probably related to that individual, and would have a similar degree of hybridization, if any. I was able to find images of other wolves that display a slight curl at the ends of their tails, similar to some of the tails in the Lamar pack image...

Re: Why is this Wolf's tail curly?

I'm no expert on wolves or wolfdogs, but I agree that wolf has an exceptionally curled tail, even for the carriage height at that moment! That photo apparently originates from Wolves of the Rockies, a nonprofit advocacy group. I didn't find it on their main website, but I did find it on their faceb...

Re: Quitting the game takes FOREVER

Hey Timber,
I agree it could be your disk space. To check that: the next time you begin the process of quitting the game, open up the Task Manager from the Control Panel menu with (Ctrl + Alt + Del). Let us know what you see in the Task Manager!

Re: How much dog do black wolves have?

Hey GoldenBeauty, All grey wolves and dogs are very, very similar genetically, because they did and still do hybridize frequently across evolutionary time: In general, the domestic dog is an extremely close relative of the gray wolf, from which it differs by only ∼0.04% in nuclear coding-DNA sequen...

Were suggestions from this thread implemented into the game? Unfortunately I can't verify for myself.

Re: Most irritating animal misconceptions

^On a similar vein, it puzzles me when people are eating fish but not other animals (pescetarian diet) "for the environment", when overfishing from wild stocks is still a rampant problem for many commercialized species, not to mention seafood mislabelling :? . Reducing meat of all kinds is generall...

Re: “Grey Wolves” in Yellowstone not native species?

Hey GageRage, is there pros to introducing a non native subspecies in an area they wouldn’t normally occupy? In general, potentially. Sometimes it is even necessary, if the source population no longer exists. In the example of Yellowstone and grey wolf reintroduction, the subspecies and/or source p...

Piggybacking on Cat's question, do the game builds follow any sort of format like: [Major build number].[Minor build number].[Revision]? Just curious!

Re: Would a wolf sleep on the jorney?

Hi katlove, I hunted in the scientific literature a bit to help me answer you more accurately. I came across predominately captive studies at first, but eventually found one about wild wolves that can help us out: Intermittent aerial observations of 405 radiocollared wolves from November 1968 throu...

Re: Genes Behind the Scenes

This is great and all but... Iv'e noticed that in the early access, many wolves are brown, (many of my mates have been brown coated) what genes do they have? Hey Star, Based on the information in the first post of this topic, we know for sure that all WQ wolves that are brown-colored have a genetic...

Re: Lost River similar to Chernobyl?

That is an interesting theory Loach! At least with respect to the timing of the game and the events in Flint. But regarding Flint's situation and the survivability of wildlife, I have some insights. I recently watched the documentary "Fahrenheit 11/9" (2018) by Michael Moore--very entertaining, I r...
